There are so many advice articles out there telling you which attractions you should go to this summer if you have a family. Primary school-aged children and up are easy to cater for with theme parks jam-packed with rollercoasters – these being by far the most abundant form of entertainment in Britain – and such. However, if you have a younger family and don’t want to miss out on fun with your toddler this summer season I have some alternative options you might want to check out.

CBeebies Land

The very first CBeebies Land is found at the Alton Towers Resort and offers a range of unique themed rides, attractions, and live entertainment. Join in the hands-on gardening fun with Mr. Bloom’s Allotment and the Something Special Sensory Garden, described as a highlight of the attraction, offers an immersive experience with a sensory adventure for your tots.

Flamingo Land

Flamingo Land in North Yorkshire comprises of 375 acres of family fun where there are a range of rides to cover all the family such as white knuckle thrillers for older children, smaller rides for younger children, 5 family shows and a zoo which is home to a collection of rare and exotic species such as giraffes, rhinos, hippos and lions which the whole family can enjoy.

National Botanic Garden of Wales

If you want to get up and close with nature with your youngsters then the National Botanic Garden of Wales, near Llanarthney in Carmarthenshire, offers a range of activities such as pond dipping, a land train, bee garden, a mini farm, discovery centre, a handy gift shop and fountains. Fun and frolics are guaranteed for all ages in more than 500 acres.

Milky Way Adventure Park

Not forgetting the South West of the country, the Milky Way Adventure Park is located in Devon and boasts the county’s largest rollercoaster along with other great rides such as droid destroyer dodgems for older children. There are also live shows throughout the day such as the indoor bird of prey show, juggling workshop and professor Nebula’s galaxy show. For those toddlers, there is an innovative new play space for 0-6 year olds including a sensory room with a mesmerising light display. Also available are baby and toddler classes allowing you to spend some quality time with your tot.

Railworld

If your family loves trains – and who doesn’t? – Railworld, based on two sides of the River Nene in Peterborough, is the place for you! Discover transport heritage, environmental technology and biodiversity at this large Wildlife Haven and habitat creation project. You and your family can see steam engines being restored, the world’s first 100MPH hover train (very back to the future), a large garden railway, and an amazing 7 track OO gauge model railway.
