Is there anything better than spending a cosy Autumn evening being creative? It might not be the right time of year for evening strolls in the park but the cold and dark weather is the perfect excuse to dig out some quick crafting projects.
If it were up to me I would always do my crafting with a cup of something warm and in front of a fire with some seasonal music in the background. It’s definitely the way to go. If you are looking for a fun, effective but quick project why not try this up-cycled clothespeg basket? It’s a really simple project, perfect to do with the kids on a grey afternoon.
With only some clothespegs, a hot glue gun and a metal can which acts as a former you can make a rustic style basket or storage pot where you can keep nick nacks, or pop in some sunflowers with some water to make a little vase or even drill some holes in the bottom to make a delightful miniature planter for an indoor plant.
Supplies:
- 17 clothespins
- Hot Glue Gun & glue sticks
- Metal can (I used a food can, that was washed thoroughly)
Instructions:
Start by taking apart all of the clothespins. You can easily slide the wooden pieces from the middle spring.
Start by adding a line of hot glue to the flat side of the clothespin piece. This is the side that will adhere to the metal can. Repeat this process around the entire can. Style and enjoy!
